Usually resorts offer self-contained and separate villas, huts or residences, rather than multi-level "rooms".

| If you are going in August for a summer holiday the best weather in Thailand will be in the Gulf of Thailand islands and beaches. Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and beaches in the Hua Hin area , good weather between now and September in Thailand. Koh Phangan is now getting busy and more popular and with Koh Tao there are more good hotels, resorts and other accommodations. Hua Hin has a lot of new luxury top beach hotels and resorts

| The food in Phuket was expensive even from what they call cheap restaurants, but most people were heading to the fast food and pubs serviving English or Aussie pub food, they were happy with their hot dogs, cheeseburgers and their steak and kidney pudding ! I cannot understand choosing a tropical island in Thailand and just living like it is some European or Australian holiday place

| In Thailand the quality beach resorts of Hua Hin and Cha Am are getting more popular. The busy commercial tourism resorts of Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui are far too commercial now for many tourists seeking nice beach resorts and islands. Hua Hin is very nice.

| Phuket was not what we expected at all. Patong is crowded with british and Irish and Aussie Pubs and bars, load, a concrete jungle of buildings. Kata and Karon were better but like package holiday resorts on the Costa del Sol in Spain. We went to krabi and that was nicer and also Koh tao, nice except for Chaweng area. Koh lanta was lovely as so was Koh Tao.

| Bali is also very nice. If you visit Thailand Pattaya is very cheap. If you do not want to stay in busy Pattaya you can go to Jomtien Beach near Pattaya where there are mnay good hotels and resorts and it is very cheap for restaurants, shopping and accommodation. Some of the cheapest hotel deals around at the moment are for Phuket Thailand, Asiaoz has a lot of cheap hotel deals available.
