THE BEST PLACES IN THE ASIA PACIFIC

What is a good place?
Is it a place that inspires, excites, relaxes, re-charges, or just makes you feel good to be alive? Some places we go to with anticipation, either because it is novel, what we have heard about it, or because of our own past experience. Some places are great because of their people; hotels for their service, luxury, or location, or vacation and holiday places for their relaxing, exotic, or adventurous nature. Some hotels, restaurants and bars are great because they are unique, a cultural experience, or even a way to forget where you are completely and make you think you are home! Some airlines make you quiver with dread; others relax you. Some airports can make up for the deadening experience of business and holiday travel. Bars and meeting places can be great because of the people you meet there, the service, the music, or maybe the decor. ..Or maybe something completely different again... Different places mean different things to different people. But maybe there are some places that stand out. The Sense of Place survey attempts to present the views of all who want to share their ratings and experience, to help document more clearly what we mean by "A Sense of Place" and maybe make and break some reputations and old wive's tales as well ..Along the way we will have a bit of fun as well.... March 2003: NEW SURVEY LAUNCHES
The new survey commenced in late March 2003, with a new format that allows you to see your votes reflected immediately in the rankings. The facility to add comments and nominations is still available. At present the choices reflect the results from our survey from 1999 to February 2003, but these will be updated as soon as 3 independent nominations are received for each new place/airline/airport/hotel etc. in the comments section. Nominations added after the commencement of the surveys are designated by a gold, rather than blue bar, as they have had relatively less time to compile votes. |
The leaders as of 19th July 2003
