1 Swiss Inn Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:

Right in the heart of Chinatown, Cheap but clean and safe | Watch out for "extras" though (like phone call charges) - thats where they make the money | Food is not so great but all the food you want is on the doorstep | I liked the balcony at the back where you can sip a beer and watch the chinatown activity

2 Bestotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:

Very Nice. Safe. Convenient. Friendly. Clean. Cheap. And complete. Almost (no pool) | A mid-sized hotel, clean and modern. Great sincere service. And friendly staff. The rooms are well decorated and well equipped. Rates start from US$ 23 and that includes breakfast for two!

3 Ananda Cottages, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia:

Navigating the rice fields requires a flashlight, but Ananda is pleasant, peaceful and romantic. | Superb Indonesian ambience, wonderful. Inexpensive.

4 Explorer's Lodge, Penrith, NSW, Australia

Nothing too fancy, but clean and affordable | Beautiful, brand new lodge. Great jump off point for both The Blue Moutains and Sydney.
