The theme at the 10th Annual International Meeting of the International Academy of Business Disciplines, to be held at Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA, October 15-18, 1998, is:

The Unbroken Circle: Ecology and International Business

Call for Stories:
Submission deadline: April 20, 1998

This International Conference will focus on International Business and Ecology. It is our stories that make the circle whole. We are changing the way we do business, from the old story of industrial domination of Nature to a new story of doing sustainable business within a living ecology. Currently we are between stories. Helping us to shape our new stories will be our keynote speaker Steve Best, a philosopher and ecologist. He suggests it is time to develop an ecology ethic that goes beyond debates about technology and business if we are to remain within the limits of sustainability.

We are inviting scholars of the world to help the Americas compose an ecological story of business sustainability. Competitive papers, works-in-progress, symposia and workshops are invited.

Joint Sponsors:

  • New Mexico State University
  • University of Texas at El Paso
  • University of New Mexico
  • University of Monterrey, Juarez, Mexico (to be confirmed)
