September 12th 2003: A new case of SARS in Singapore raised panic this week, only for the nature of the case - a medical researcher coming into contact with lab viruses, with limited exposure to others during the incubation period. Nevetheless it focused attention on the long term nature of the SARS threat. June 28th 2003: It's OK to do business and travel to Asia once more. In fact in many countries it always has been, despite an international media that sensationalised a virus that had nil or insignificant local transmission save for China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Canada. In recent weeks, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan have been taken off the WHO's SARS travel advisory list. March 2003: War and pestilence. To say that business life in Asia is no fun anymore understates the severity of both war and the SARS [Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome] epidemic in human terms. Many countries have placed travel advisories not only against travel to China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam, but also other countries in Asia.
