The Kashmir Conflict: Webcast from Rice University

As we move further into 20021, both Middle East and South Asian conflicts are threatening to take the limelight from America's 'War of Terror'. All three have implications for business strategy, increasing risk in some key Asian markets, and affecting such issues as oil prices, security, and trade issues.

It took a high profile "attack against America" to wake up the West to the fact that no nation is an island when it comes to conflict in other regions. Not even the wealthiest most powerful nation on earth, who previously were happy to act as largely "interested bystanders".

It behooves us therefore to keep up with these issues while the traditional press prefers to focus on the more provactive mainstream issue that has already affected the US at home.

Such an issue is the continuing Indian/Pakistan conflict over Kashmir.
